Hi,

I'm trying to make an ordering system & registration using a DHTML window.

Something like this

The idea would be other sites could then use the floating window on their websites to allow their visitors to buy the item I'm selling.

I have no technical issues doing it, just finding out if its a bad idea or not.

It would not popup on its own, the user would have to click buy now after viewing product information on a normal site.

Do you think this is a bad idea, it would be fully branded to match the originating site.

Do you think the average user would think it was a bit iffy?

Nothing personal, but DHTML was a buzz phrase from a while ago...

that facebook currently uses for it's bottom bar and youtube is using to make a bottom type bar for as well. sure it must be pretty good if these big companies are using it?

this may be incorrect but is what i remember reading when the new facebook bar was put on the site.

DHTML was the Microsoft term for their implementation of ECMA Script. Netscape called theirs Javascript, Microsoft called theirs DHTML and added a load of extra features (including support for vbscript). Nowadays everyone just calls it Javascript and doesn't use any of the extra stuff Microsoft added, Microsoft included.
