Bought D4 ages ago, played it for 4-5 hours then stopped. Is now a good time to re-visit it?

Nah still pants
Yes ,,new season started last week.
The game is infinitely better than it was even 6 months ago.
Two successful expansions in there now, quality gameplay so no i would not say its"pants".
All its lacking is a hugely deep endgame like Poe2 but whats there with war plans is more than enough for the normal or casual player.
I google it and it’s people complaining about how repetitive it is lol. I’ve not played myself though so have no experience, I’m allergic to F2P games.
What put you off the last time ? The gameplay is still the same, but more content has been added via expansions ( if you own them ). Class balance remains a problem, particularly in the end game, and this season is one of the poorest ever. Heck, even most of the D4 shills / streamers have nothing good to say about it.
But if you just want something to play casually and don't care about the deeper mechanics, you should manage to derive some fun from it.
It's just bad, across the board. Pile of Effluence 2.

If I did start again, is it worth playing non-seasonal gameplay first? To experience the original game?
Just make seasonal character and dont skip campaign, the skip is for players who completed it and dont wish to do it allover again each season.
