Diablo clone

Was thinking of making a purchase of a Diablo clone this week, I was thinking maybe Titan Quest or Sacred 2, any opinions? I don't think Sacred 2 is on Steam which means waiting for it over the weekend...
 
I could never get into Titan Quest or Sacred II... Torchlight is simple enough and you've got a mountain of mods to choose from and you can make your own edits once you figure it out too. Helps to increase the duration of some of the really annoying buffs that just don't last long enough.
 
titan quest is an amazing diablo clone, get the expansion and play from that as it is the original game + the exp rolled into 1 longer story.

also dont forget to install a few important mods

TQ Vault - for storage
TQ Fanpatch - fixes lots of bugs after the original dev team went bust
TQ Defiler - a few neat little mods such as always show drops etc

I'll probably end up playing all of them and Path of Exile when that eventually comes out!
 
It always felt a bit too sluggish when i tried it. Like you were just aimlessly wandering without any real specialisation. Didn't play it long admittedly so maybe i should give it longer next time i feel like trying it.

Torchlight though... start up, wander into the first floor of a dungeon, kill stuff, level up, send loot back with your dog/cat, kill stuff in the meantime, level up more, send the dog/cat back with even more stuff and keep going down :p
 
Titan Quest is recognized as the next best thing as far as Diablo goes. Its a fantastic game and plays well.

you can get some good bargins on it outside of Steam by the way. for example there is a well known Jungle Site that has the Expansion for 50p :eek:. You cant buy a tin of coke for that.

Secondly if you go this way I recommend TQDefiler http://tq.soulseekkor.com/. Its a great trainer. The vault being the best feature. Nothing worse than an Epic sowrd dropping while your playing a Caster. Vault lets you save and swap items around characters.

Anyhoo thats my 2 pence worth.

~Well Steam has the original game and expansion for £9.99 so if I can find the game for less than £5 it may be worth waiting for...
