Hi all, Im trying to figure out whats up with a friends portable drive, I get the usb device sound when plugging the caddy in, it says installing/ready to use, but no drive appears, not even in device manager or disk manager (win7).
I have a couple of spare caddies and adaptors but none will fit, as the drive has an IDE style pin config, but it wont fit IDE connector, floppy connectors or SATA adaptors
Is this some kind of WD only pin config?
The drive itself is a laptop sized drive, model WD1200BEVE.
On the origeonal caddy it came with it says sata, but on the drive itself it says enhanced IDE, whetever that means.
Any advice on how I can test it is appreciated.
