Diagnostic tool

Are there any tools available that can diagnose a failing disk? We have a Seagate SCSI disk and its bringing up write errors (seems completely random when it does). We have updated the drivers for the controller but its still bringing up the message.

Anyone got any advice? (I have already backed up the drives contents)

Seagate should have their own diagnostic tools, I don't know what exists for SCSI drives but they almost certainly will do for IDE/SATA drives. Take a look on their website as they are the best people to test the drive.
