dial up in usa

Is it possible to get a dial-up service in USA where you only pay for the connection time like we can get here in the UK. Google only seems to come up with ISP's that want to be pre-paid or they charge a monthly fee of $10 etc. The dial-up service may never get used so i don't particularly want to do this because i'd be paying for nothing.

Any ideas?

most of the time your uk isp will offer an international roaming service dial up

failing that, once your in the states go get yourself an aol disc
Im also sure that earthlink offer a standard dial up account without monthly payments
