Dialing phone number from calendar

Been thinking of switching back to Android as my main phone from a iPhone. The main thing I use my phone for is appointments and one of the best things for me on the iPhone is the ability to click on the number in the notes part of the calendar and have my phone dial the number.
The default Google calendar and also Today calendar do not seem to have this option, you have to select the phone number copy then paste it into the phone caller to ring the person which is a right royal pita, it's much better to have the number clickable to call. I am using a Nexus 4 with stock android.
For me this is pretty close to a deal breaker I constantly need to ring calendar appointments (none of whom are in my contacts list, these are jobs I go to) to adjust times get information on issues ahead of arrival etc.
I find it curious that this isn't a feature by default in the Google calendar, maybe it's a patent thing? Or maybe I have missed something obvious to get it to click to call?

Just created an event in my Google Calendar (Nexus 5) and added a phone number in the description.

The number is clickable, takes you to the dialer with the number pre-entered. All you need to do is press the call button :)

Tried it again here, added event on phone instead of Google calendar on PC to make sure, still can't click the phone number, if you tap it and hold down it lets you copy it but that's all that works >< I don't know why it doesn't work.

edit here is a SS showing the calendar app you can see the address is clickable but the phone number is not

The Number needs to be in the title or 'What' field (where you have Test). You've put it into Notes which is unclickable!!

Ok so I figured it out! It's a rather interesting reason for not working!
I worked it out because I entered the 0800 number from Simians SS to see if it worked and it did work as a number, but then i reentered a local number and a UK cell number and nothing. So Google wasn't recognizing those numbers as phone numbers, well then I remembered that I had set up my phone to use US English to get get 'OK Google' to work when it came out. I switched back to UK English and now it recognizes those numbers as phone numbers!!
Thanks for the input everyone, very gald i figured it out!
