Well, the day has finally arrived... took delivery of the case this morning

excuse phone photos, was too excited to dig out the proper camera kit lol

next job... gut the entire thing... rip out the hard drive cages, and invert the entire layout so the case is reversed with all the motherboard facing the other way, so i can flip the case and have it on my left with the window facing me

once thats done, i can start measuring up for the PSU shroud and figure out how much space i've got to work with with the inverted layout... then once the shroud is sorted, i can start planning out space for pump, resevoir, and how the loop is going to go

very basic plan for the loop so far... changes might happen if i can save for a second GPU while working on this project

going to be a LONG project to build this up to scratch... lot of work to do before i even start getting hardware inside this... but it's going to be so worth it

well i was getting some measurements done... then one of my feline overlords decided her approval of the new project was more important than my work on it lol

she seems to approve of it though lol

lol don't think there's much power in the cat... tends to go into sleep mode far too often for my use :p

jokes aside... i'm looking at the Gigabyte Designare ex x399 for the motherboard... the gorgeous silver will work great in this build... though will have to figure out something to do with the chipset, as the "Designare" logo and diamond will be upside down lol

I'll be matching that with a 1920x for the processor... and then populating the ram and graphics up from there

going to be a weird one, having the processor at the bottom near the PSU shroud and the graphics and controllers at the top... will throw my loop into chaos for a bit while i plan everything out lol

AWESOME! subbed- looking forward to it!

not able to push 420 rad at the front and 280 at the top ;)

sadly not... i need at least one spot at the front for a card reader access... and will probably use the second for a USB hub at the front with USB-C, either that or a hotswap drive for a good storage base to run off of while the main OS and programs run from an M.2 drive on the motherboard

so 360 and 240 will be the max i can do while keeping the front drive bay in place.. i might be able to push to a 360 top / 360 front, depending on radiator layouts and sizing... i'll be measuring that up later to see what i can get away with when i find some good white radiators

Yeah that might be annoying if the cat goes into sleep mode all the time, sounds like it needs troubleshooting.

should be able to have 280 at the front easily, whether its 30mm or thicker :) or dual 280's should give some nice cooling.

also your route, water thermal dynamics- water temp will be the same throughout the loop whether it goes into a cpu then rad then gpu then rad.
Plumb it in from Pump> cpu> gpu> top rad> front>res

run positive pressure, that way fan covers will catch hair and not be sucked through unfiltered gaps from negative pressure

i can fit a 360 at the top without it interfering with a card reader, i checked that... it's just the front whether i can fit a 360 there or limited to a 240... either way i should be able to sort something out

measured up for a PSU shroud today so will be sorting that out soon... nice pure white acrylic to be ordered, so i can put the 'diamond frost' logo across it with some white backlighting :D

still bouncing some ideas around for it currently

this is my current favorite

bringing my Frost logo in with the Designare 'diamond' that they use for the X399 motherboard design

I'm an unrepentant comic geek... so a lot of this build is influenced by my favorite comic character, Emma Frost... known for wearing all white, and her powers of changing her body into an organic diamond form lol

still bouncing around ideas to see what jumps out at me... want to take my time with this build so i'm really happy with it when its done

liquid cooling... going to go with the Sky White SX from Primochill... that fluid is gorgeous and really matches the feel i want to go for with this build

i've done a soft tubing build before, this'll be my first hard line build

already bought some cheap PETG and a bending kit from amazon... gives me time to practice while sorting out plans, that way when it comes to actually doing it with the proper tubes i'll be more confident with the bends :D
