Dice should own a bus company!

Basic game will be free to download and play, and then of course you can pay for other perks. Much like Heroes.

It describes itself as "a next-generation" title, yet I'm seeing nothing that indicates anything even remotely innovative or fresh in either the gameplay or technology. Even BF2 couldn't have described itself as a 'next-generation' game when it was first released, so this rehash of it 5 years on is going with that how?

Getting what you pay for sucks.

from what i've seen this is def next generation when compared to other free to play games.

i disagree. BF2 was in many ways innovative and 'next gen' heck, even recent games cant even compete with it in many ways now

What was next-gen about BF2? it was the same engine and gameplay as the previous two released titles. Whether the game is good and can still stand up to modern titles is irrelevant to that.

Or has next-gen suddenly taken on some very underwhelming new meaning and anything sporting very minor improvements over it's predecessor should be hailed as such?

heres 1, 64 player maps.
and you comparing BF2 with 1942 and vietnam?

You could play 1942 / Vietnam on 64 player servers and a year before BF2 came out a game called Joint Operations Typhoon Rising did which featured 150 player games... BF2 wasn't in anyway next-gen and this free to play rehash is the antithesis of next-gen.

64 Player maps? nothing next gen about that. I used to play 64 player maps on Quake 2 the expansion packs came with several 64 player maps and that was about 13 years ago:)

ok, then what about the player tracking? or the sound effects? or the squadding up/management, commander side of things? and im sure at the time the graphics werent rehashed from 1942/vietnam, it certainly didnt seem like it to me anyways.
and im not claiming this free2play one next gen, im trying to think back to when BF2 was released in 2005.
