did I do wrong? (football ethics)

You mean there is some sort of democracy going on there?

Yep every Saturday each side gives the opposition side a MOM for them. I never get it because basically I'm a **** on the football field. It's a running joke.

Yeah, it's like thick carpet that gets sprayed regularly with water. Ever seen hockey on telly? When they lash the ball and water puffs up? Its that stuff, not just carpet that you might get indoors.

The water reduces the friction between ball/surface, and also take the heat out of would-be burns ;)

It's marginally less like sandpaper than sand-based astro :o

Why *** any1 want to slide in on astro turf or indoor, its rips all the skin off your legs. Well it does on the sandy astro turf we play on. My legs are scarred to **** off that astro turf stuff. In all my years of astro turf experience ive never seen any1 foolish enough to purposely slide tackle.

I always get that in games.

Oppposition plays going in ridiculously hard in challenges, moaning at us for complaining about it, only for them to complain moments later when they get a challenge back that isn't even half as bad.

They are the typical whingy footballing types that annoy me. Really get me wound up. Then I get moaned at for moaning at them moaning! Its kind of amusing winding them up sometimes though.

Its all part of the game. If he slides you he slides you. If you get the chance, don't hesitate to slide him back. Not to purposefuly injure him, but to remind him that you're not going to take any ****.

No, it is much *much* better than sand-based astros.

I don't play on sand-based astros. I don't play indoors.

Definitely :)

I don't even mind forwards giving me a bit of a rough game as long as they don't complain when they get it back. Really annoys me when you play a forward and they want it to be a non-contact sport.

Probably everyone who has ever played footy with me would say I need to agree to this :p

I'm only really a wing back by trade, so don't get thinking i'm built like a brick **** house, i'm 6ft and 12 stone. But i do love the old challenge.

I am the type of nut who WILL slide indoors, but not slide at the player. I have been known to slide to block a shot.

Football is a contact sport, so expect it to be a contact sport, i am quite possibly one of the most competitive in a game of football you will meet (other than say, jumpers for goal posts e.t.c)

I don't agree. Its a bit better but not much.

You are of course entitled to your opinion. The differences I find are:

much easier to change direction without losing your footing on water-wased.

If you don get bundled over, you aren't burned, and don't lose blood.

Everytime someone kicks a ball with a little power, and you are standing close, you don't get half a beach in your face/down your shirt.

I think the sum-total of these are more than slight.
