Well, it is up to you of course... but I don't know a single example of anyone (ever?) destroying a sandybridge cpu by finding its maximum.

Mine has been at 4.7 @ 1.4v for yonks. Did suicide runs past 5Ghz @ over 1.5v with temps at 90c, intels stated maximum with good cooling is 1.52.


When your dissertation is done, have a good crack at it mate.

I plan to! Especially with the Ryzen 5's/Vega out by then. Should be some interesting choices to make.
