I had a great time at uni, I moved away from home, I had some really good experiences and made some fantastic friends but unlike some I'm not convinced I'd want to do it all over again - it was right for me then but now I don't think I'd enjoy it in the same way. However if I was 18/19 again then I'd do it and try to take greater advantage of the various clubs and sports on offer - I enjoyed what I did but with hindsight could probably have done more with the time I spent there.
It wasn't all brilliant but I definitely had more good times than bad.
I enjoyed my course (although it was hard work) and met some great people ... but also met some idiots and generally didn't enjoy the social aspects of it all.
Fortunately it's over 15 years ago now so I'm only in contact with a couple of people who I'm glad to count as friends.
I am just coming to the end of my 2nd year but I'm 23 and live with my girlfriend in our own place. I definitely don't regret going and there are many great aspects to university, however I can see my time spent here becoming instantly irrelevant the minute I leave. The new ways of thinking and the life experiences are something that I don't think I would have had if I hadn't gone to uni but much of the academic work is completely theoretical and only useful if I wished to continue in academia.
I haven't made as much of the typical social aspect as most people at university as I don't drink much and I work at the weekends so I don't have too much free time. If I had money without having to work too much and was 5 years younger, I could see it being a completely different experience.
I'm coming to the end of my course and this is what I thought about it really. I sort of wish I could start again but put more effort into the work. At the moment I feel like I've wasted 3 years of great opportunities.
I very much enjoyed my University years.
So much energy, able to go out late and make it up the next day without any issues.
Got a great education, leading to a decent career.
Worked hard and enjoyed myself lots along the way.
