Did you have one of those 'weird' kids at your School ?

Two of them ended up doing time for things I won't mention I only found out because they made the news, another two didn't make it out of their teens one was my sister's friend she and my mother went to the funeral a childs funeral is the saddest thing ever. None of those were technically "wierd" but I don't know what happened to the rest and don't really care honestly I can barely remember their names anyway

i have a picture of me back in 1997 with 4 other friends

the weird one was probably me .. yeah, hands up I admit it :D

two of the others are dead (one car accident , no idea how the other one went, but i was told it was something due to alcohol) so it means I probably have the most unfortunate photo ever

now I look back on it it gets scary as the older you get (approaching 40s now) it makes you wonder who is next to go

Most of the bully type people in my school (it was a 'special school' died of their conditions. I never understood why they were like they were. They knew they would only live until late teens or early 20s and choose to make other people's lives a misery.

The other bully, who survived, avoids me after we had a confrontation (he was picking on a kid who couldn't move his arms and legs).

Apart from one person who I maintained contact with I've not spoken with anyone from school in over 20 years really. Seems to be little in the way of any social media presence for the class year either.

Any other "John Cabot CTC" Alumini here?

The kid who brought a spanner into school and took apart the toilets causing a flood turned into some EDL supporting covid denier/conspiracy theorist.

One of quite "hard" kids bizarrely ended up working for a gangster, not as in some local thug but part of a serious international crime syndicate worth hundreds of millions if not billions.

The weird kid in my school ended up murdering a girl when he was 16.
In a similar vain, one of the weird kids at my school killed his girlfriend drug/drink driving when he was 18, only got a couple of years for it if I remember right.

Wasn’t really anyone else that really stood out in my year (compared to me anyway :D )

I was the funny kid at school and consequently freinds with everyone, even the hard smoking ladz and the school punchbag who I think ended up a soldier. Seems a lot of those kids take a military career :p

2 of the weirder kids i was freinds with both died pretty recently, one had moved to Thailand had a great job and married but behind the scenes a massive drug problem, taking anything he could swallow or get up his nose. Died of heart failure, stupid idiot.

The other weird kid got the crap kicked out of him at home by his dad, poor sod. He introduced me to Warhammer 40k and it low level stuck in my brain though I don't play with toy soldiers no more. He ended up a real paratrooper, i guess taking out revenge for his father's handy work, on any poor sods they were deployed near. He had some disturbing stories regarding checkpoints and machine guns. After he got out apparently he just collapsed one day at his work dead.... He was a very fit and active guy. Was shocked tbh.

Wonder if I'm next... :p

Almost forgot the hard lad that burst into tears one physics lesson. He got a low grade for some homework and burst into tears, we all found it hilarious obviously, but he was begging the teacher saying how his dad would beat the **** out of him for failing, it's pretty dark on reflection the kid was a monster I saw him destroy someones old brother who came to threaten him for giving his little brother greif. If this guy is still alive I'll be amazed....

There was a kid called Josh in my form class during secondary school. Thick as two short ones, often picked on for being daft. He's a multimillionaire now at ~40. Socially awkward but the bloke can cut wood. He started working for himself at 16 and now has several people working for him at his carpentry firm, not to mention the property he bought with his earnings early on. Everyone in my group has done "alright" for themselves but he smashed it

I never understood why they were like they were. They knew they would only live until late teens or early 20s and choose to make other people's lives a misery.
I imagine knowing that makes you pretty angry and resentful so they ended up taking it out on others.

I’d imagine that my shyness around people I didn’t know well as a child marked out as one of the weird kids at school.

There were only 2-3 kids from my year I kept in touch with after secondary school and that was because they joined BAe as apprentices in the same intake as me. We all went our separate ways and I have no idea what happened to any of them as it was 40 years ago and I’ve never used FB to find out.

Of the neighbourhood kids, one took over his father’s bakery and sold it for a small fortune years later when a housing developer wanted the land. A couple moved away never to be seen or heard of again. One older lad from a few doors up could still be found in his regular spot in his local pub most nights of the week despite not having ever held down a proper job last time I went out for a drink there 10 years ago.

No idea about any one from school, couldn't wait till get out of the area.

Hopefully a few of them are dead preferably horribly and in painfull ways :)
