Hi all, long time no post :)

a little while ago I went digging in my parents loft and found a load of old die cast cars, 70 odd matchbox, 50 odd corgi and about 10 dinkey. Now, I know condition is everything and all the cars I've found have been battered over the years, so they are not sitting as new in the box but I'm assuming they'll be worth something as i know people like to restore them.

Does anyone do that here? Any places where I could start to look to sell them, get a bit of help with prices rather than the ebay?

unless they are stupidly old they probably aren't worth much.
just give them to your kids or leave them in the loft until you have kids

Free price guide, a little out of date:
https://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk/dinkyindex.htm

The bible on these things is the Ramsays Guide:
https://www.ramsayspriceguide.com/

As a very, *very* rough yardstick, for a mint / near mint in box model, the realistic achievable price is what Ramsays give as the unboxed value.
Unboxed in decent nick, ~70% of the unboxed value.
Tatty & unboxed, anything from 30% to 60% of the unboxed value depending on exactly what it is.

(80s - 90s 00 model trains are my area of collection / expertise, but I know a fair bit, ask away)

Interesting...My uncle had quite a few of the dinky toy cars and my mum seems to think they might be worth something. I think most are still in their original box.

He also has quite a few trains still in original packaging too. (In all honesty he has a heck load of stuff !)
