Classic. I'm going to have to watch with a vengeance over the weekend now. :)

Alas, your Mr. Takagi did not see it that way... so he won't be joining us for the rest of..... his life.

Fixed.

Probably my favourite line from the first. So cold, but always raises a smile at how he delivers it.

Never been able to pick a favourite for me, both 1 and 3 are superb films. 2,4 would be next of my order though, felt they were the weaker of the films, especially as they seemed to concentrate too much on technology in 4 and less of the classics.

4.0 was one of the worst movies that Bruce Willis has ever done. I'm stunned that anyone actually rates it.

Really? What's not to like about it?

As for one of his worst films? Die Hard 4 worse than 16 Blocks, Hostage, The Jackle, Last Man Standing & Striking Distance? Dont be daft.

I find there are films done by the likes of Willis, Stallone, JCVD, Arnie that once upon a time you think are good but when you get a little older you watch back and realise they're pretty crap but I really cant see what problem anyone would have with Die Hard 4? It's a very good old action film, maybe Willis doesn't play the John McClane role exactly the same as he has in the previous Die Hard films but for me that's not really much of an issue.

Think after all of that I'm going to stick it on on Blu Ray tonight :)

Hostage, The Jackal were genuinely good movies (especially The Jackal IMO). Entertaining etc. I can't remember the other films you mentioned, sorry.

Die Hard 4 was just gash. It was awful, Hollywoodised to the extreme. The whole plot of terrorists taking over traffic lights and power stations was just hilariously fictional as well. At least the first 3 movies had plots that were totally plausible as such.

He was just cashing in. The offered him several mil, he took it. Big deal. I don't hate him for it. He's still one of my favourite actors!

See I dont watch Die Hard films for their realism ;)

I can see what you mean about 4.0 having a touch of the Michael Bays about it and like I said previously Willis may not portray McClane in exactly the same way he did in the other films but I dont personally rank it down because of that. Maybe I just think of it as a separate action film rather than a continual of the originals (probably due to the 10+ years wait between them)

Die Hard 1 = Amazing
Die Hard 2 = Great action film, but lacking a little from the previous one
Die Hard 3 = Slightly different feel, but great film
Die Hard 4 = A travesty...Way over the top unrealistic situations, horrendous green screen/ cgi (the fighter jet scene...omg how awful). Terrible character continuation of Mclane, deliberately made to be a 12+ age rating so it could cash in to a greater audience like the whore of a film it was.

You're criticising Die Hard 4 for being "over the top" unrealistic? At which point does taking out an entire building worth of bad guys, managing to hit the eject button "just in time" in an airplane which about to blow up or driving through an exploding acqueuct chased by water, count as being even remotely realistic? Or even "moderately" unrealistic?!
