1 - 8.3/10
2 - 7/10
3 - 7.5/10
4 - 7.4/10.

The first one, is the only great one, IMO. Except 4, the others are enjoyable throw away films, but nothing more.
 
He is still the believable Jo stuck in this situation. Not likeb4.0 where he's more like special ops going on.

Yea but he's not flying the plane at the time, he is just you're tougher than average cop who jumps into the seat and sees he only has one way out. Its all about timing and luck
 
Just read Die Hard 5 is:

John McClane and his son take on local Russian force.


The first three had superb one liners probably some of the best in movies.
 
remember watching the original on release, midnight saturday, cinema full of drunks fresh out the pub, popcorn fights throughout, and the finale of Big Al blowing away the bad guy, place erupted :D.

as for the other 3, i'd still watch them over most of the **** released nowadays.

IMDB says Patrick Stewart may be on board, now that would be cool.

I loved the first two films much more than the second two, I like the fact that that they stayed in a relatively small geographic area (a building, an airport). I hope they return to this format in the next film.
 
Die Hard was awesome
Die Hard 2 was good but less awesome
3 was almost as awesome as the first one but still more awesome than number 2
4 was an ok action film with Bruce Willis in it.

Agreed. It was a pile of excrement in comparison to the Day of the Jackal.

Not holding my breath for Die Hard 5. The director has not made one good film.

Keep in mind the movies have been released over a nearly 20 year period. Changing demographics and all that, as well as copycat movies being released in-between. Only if you were around for each as they were released do you get a feel for the "epicness" rating (as it were).
 
what the hell is wrong with people saying die hard 2 is awful!? 1 is a classic, 2 is awesome, 3 is decent and 4...meh
 
I defy anyone to watch Die hard and not just constantly do impressions of Alan Rickman for days afterwards.

I get Alan Rickman from Die Hard tourettes.

Him and Oliver Reid if Gladiator is ever on.

And Emperor Palpetine from Star Wars. "........... Oh, I'm afraid the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive. "
 
Amazing series, I like 2, but cant stand 3. the buddy cop black guy/white guy one the man, one from the streets is just cringe.
 
I liked 4, but I don't rate them along side 1-3.

1-3 Had that late 80s/Early 90s feel to films which are almost non existant now, I was a kid 80s but something about that era makes a lot of films from then more enjoyable. To be honest the last film that gave me that vibe was super 8.

4 brings non of this and it fits into the category of just-another-action film.
I liked it though, I'm just saying it shouldn't be scaled along side the others.
