Hi i've been going down the gym for about 2 years but seriously got into the weights thing recently past six months. but my metabolism is really fast so started a new diet this week as its taken a month to gain a stone and eating a heck of a lot of food!

is it right to do have this daily:

morning:

7:00 6 eggs 3 without yolk and whey protein shake

8:30 3 weetabix

10:30 bannana & a chicken sandwich

13:00 2-3 chicken fillets in a sandwich or microwave rice?

15:00 kiwi, apple and some ham or parma ham

18:30 bowl of pasta or whatever have in fridge pref carbs for energy for gym?

20:00 gym

22:30 comeback from gym have another 6 eggs 3 without yolk and whey protein shake

oh and have 2 litres of water throughout the day

Is this the right way to eat to gain weight quickly but not fat noticed chicken and eggs is the secret but is it ok to have carbs like pasta and rice and also have weetabix and normal 5 a day fruit or is it best to have just protein and nothing else

also is it right in only going to the gym every other day used to go every day but dont do the cardio workouts anymore and was told u need a days rest for the muscles to regenerate as such for the muscles that were used the night before

You're eating seems fine, not so much every other day just work different body parts each day and have at least 2 rest days a week.

Seem pretty decent. If you get bored of Weetabix you cant knock having a nice toasted wholewheat bagel with wholeearth peanut butter on it.. total heaven :D

Stop throwing yolks away! Just have 3 full eggs, those extra egg whites won't make much difference at all.

You might want to think about eating all those eggs everyday, you could make yourself allergic to them.

CW - Is it just me or haven't I seen you post in a lifting thread for ages! Here or on ESN

but i thought the yolks increase the cholostreal and blood pressure so was just trying to keep this down as in my family cholostreal and high blood pressure is very very high :-( and its the nice bit! but isnt that why body builders have them raw etc for protein etc :S ?? what would u suggest as an alternative?

New studies have shown ingested cholesterol has little to no effect on serum cholesterol as far as I'm aware and most of the good bits are held in the yoke. I usually run a couple under hot water for a minute then crack them into my shaker along with some oats and a scoop of whey for breakfast

Sorry I don't really understand why you're asking that mate?

I haven't told you to eat any more or any less egg yolks than you already are. Just to stop throwing the 6 egg yolks away everyday and don't have the extra egg whites. You already eat 6 full eggs a day. Do you think another 6 egg whites will make that much difference to warrant the extra cost?? To be eating that many eggs there are a couple of drawbacks:

1 dozen eggs a day isn't cheap and also eating that many everyday could end up making you allergic to them.

What type of eggs are you eating btw? Those cheap nasty barn eggs?

pretty much the same as me!
been in the gym few times since beginning of December, though mine is more money related than just injury :<
How you doing mate, long time no erm..... read?! :D

Haven't been on any of the boards for months so not kept up with peeps and their progress. Sorry to hear it dude. Only thing bugging me about not training for 3 months is I've still been paying the gym membership.... about £120 so far for nothing

ouch. yeah, being out of work meant i had to stop any 'luxury' payments. thankfully 1 only had an initial 3 month contract at my gym.
since then its been a few pay as you go sessions where i can.

well annoying!

I used to have the nice eggs now buying the 30 eggs in a box but noticed lion quality so i guess not to bad.

Reason im trying to eat so many is i've been focusing on weights but takes along time for me to increase weights e.g on the bar i do 30kg bicep curls 3 x 10 and took me weeks to go up from 25-30kg and im guessing this is because i cant gain weight so no extra muscle is being put on?

Remember 25kg to30kg is a 20% increase in weight. That's not an increase that you'd expect overnight.

A month to gain a stone and you are crying about not being able to put on weight? What??

Also unless your using special supplements most of that weight gain is going to be fatty tissue rather than lean mass, slow and steady is the key to gaining muscle

Lucky, nothing worse than being tied to loads of contracts when things are tight!

Go for free range eggs, avoid barn eggs.

Then increase total calories by eating a bit more of everything don't just overdose on one food type, this is never a good thing.
