Hi there,

I've been reading some forums for quite some time now but I have only just registered, just wanted to say hello to you all and look for a bit of advice regarding my diet.

I used to go to a gym a few years ago but overdid it and did my back in, lesson learned. But a recent job change has given me the opportunity to have another go. So i'll be going along to see a PT soon. But what I really need to sort out is my diet.

I've read Gordys sticky on diet, as im looking to be 'bulking up' (im quite a small guy at 5'7" and 113lbs) and its answered most of my questions about what to eat, quantity etc. But I am finding it very difficult to adapt my diet due to the shift patterns I work.

Basically I do any shift from an early start (7am-2.30pm) a day shift (11.30-7pm) to a late shift (4.30pm-12). Doing a combination of these (Mainly a series of lates followed by a day then an early) makes it difficult for me to find a routine to stick to. Also as I work in an airport I'm not aloud to take liquids into my office.

Any advice about timings would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post, but by looking at other threads you guys obviously know your stuff and are more than willing to help :)

Thanks guys

Crizzy

I work shifts too and find the best way is to pack your own food eg. pasta, rice, veggies, fruit, chicken breast, tuna etc. Try to eat every 3 hours :)

I work shifts too.My missus makes me either a cold pasta-chicken salad with veg and mayo or a vat of chilli-con-carne that'll last a week.I'll just cook up some wholemeal rice the night before and heat both in a microwave at work.

I also take nuts, seeds with me for snacks.Add to that 2 cans of tuna and 6 eggs per day in between meals.

Can't say that I'd be able to do it myself though..having an understanding wife when you lift is a real help.

Ok cool thanks for your suggestions, precooked and prepacked food it is then. Might get some strange looks at work when I start constantly eating though!

I'll be sorting out the diet over then next few days so I'll post it when I've got something sorted.

Thanks again. :)

welcome and good luck :]

have to agree with the rest, prepare the food pre work, take some shakes with you. quite easy to do as shakes take 2 secs to add water to and another 2 secs to drink.
200g of chicken takes a couple of mins if that to eat etc etc

I'll have to just take in the shake powder and make it up in work due to airport restrictions on liquids... But yeah cheers for the suggestion

yeah, thats what i do, take the powder into work then make it up once i need it.
