Diets - Macros and Calories, what do you really need?

I think if you're worrying about a few grams of protein either side of your desired intake, you're probably over thinking things a tad :D

I remember the days when this forum took pride in just getting in the gym and seeing results, with a bit of banter in between

Now you're spending an entire day talking about the small difference between cooked and uncooked chicken.

What happened?!

If anything this place seems to be full of people moaning about people discussing things.

If you don't like what you're reading, don't bother reading it...

Fine

So tell me more about chicken and its fluctuating protein levels? I feel like I know nothing

Can't, sorry.

Too busy thinking about 1mm of incorrect positioning in my squat form bro.

That's more like it :D

But Syla, it isn't over thinking to decide how you want to base your macros, it is however over thinking when you start spending the best part of a day discussing it and the reasons behind it

Steedie,

I may have the wrong person here, but I believe you have sorted out a few diets for some people on here? Would you mind if I had to trust you and give me some pointers etc?

I love how everyone thinks I am worried about it because I worked out the potential differences over a week of using cooked vs uncooked macros. Over a week 1k cals can be the difference between someone cutting weight and someone maintaining weight, so actually it's not an insignificant difference for some.

You'd have to be ridiculous to mess up enough to be 1k calories over the course of a week though, if you're that simple you can't cook chicken properly or enough to know what you're eating, you should probably just stay out of the gym as well, heaven knows what that person would manage with heavy equipment around

Got it mate, will reply this weekend, weekdays aren't good for me in terms of getting time to sit down and check emails

Hey man,

Yeah you man

You interested in that Intermittent Fasting? Yeah?

GTFO!!

:p I think most people know I'm not a believer in it, but I know people get results from it. I just think there are better ways to diet

£4 for 4 aren't exactly cheap.

Wut?

Where are you shopping? Harrods?

It's £1.20 for 4 at Tesco, the ripen at home ones, they're ready to eat in a couple of days. So buy a few packs and then by the time you've finished one, the other pack is ready to eat.

I'm going to say you're eating more than you think you are, or you're going by the calories burnt by reading off a watch/crappy calories burnt estimator thingymabob, which will never be accurate. So you're probably not in a big deficit

Not to mention you're eating the most calories on the weekends which are your rest days, should be the other way round
