Just bought Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA-II 32MB Cache for £50..because i was recommended it, main reason why it was recommended is because the 32mb cache. Iv only had 8 and 16mb cache drives and iv seen no difference in speed in them..

Can anyone give me a quick explanation about what the 32mb cache means? and why we have different sizes?

i think its like a buffer zone. larger cache generally means quicker access speeds. thats what i recall anyway when i was looking for drives. either way the more the better :D
