Difference between 970 and 980

Apart from the pricing, performance wise, is there a massive difference in gaming lol? I know its been advertised 980 is better for GTA5..but for the price is it worth changing?

The 980 is roughly 15% faster than a 970. I don't think the extra £200 + is justified.

Law of diminishing returns the titan x is not 'worth' over twice the cost of a basic 980 but still sells as its better and if you are running 4k its the best single card and also currently the best in multi card. I bought sli'd 980's because I also bought a 1440p monitor (Swift) and so thought I would gain the benefit from that extra 15% or so. My 1080p 60hz gaming htpc rocks a single 970 due to this reasoning. The difference between the 970 and the 980 except price is the resolution and refresh rate you play at and the min/max/average fps you want to achieve in a given game

no,but neither will a single 980 either(for 60fps)

If we are talking proper max that is (8x MSAA ect)

Incorrect, i can run gta v with every setting on its highest with 8x msaa and get a solid 60fps @ 1080p with v-sync on my 980 (spec in sig) i see no need for sli @ 1080p with v-sync i get 70+fps but tearing on my screen like crazy.

Edit: cpu/mem overclocked 980 also +110core +550 memory (not tried it without the overclock)
