Hi there im upgrading to conroe in the next few weeks (about time look at my sig!). And have been looking at some mobos. I won't be overclocking so I'm not too bothered about that aspect of it, though it may be nice if I want to in future. Im thinking about getting either the Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2, or the MSI 965P NEO. My question really is whats the difference between the 975x and the 965p(i know the ASRock isnt either i think  )? And what type of mobo should i get to couple with a E6300, 2gb RAM, 7600GT? I am thinking of getting a dx10 gfx card when they come out, so I guess i need a compatible mobo?

Please help!

965x is better for 2MB cache Core 2's and 975x is better for 4MB cache Core 2's.

Dont go with MSI if you value your sanity. MSI - Made by Sodding Idiots.

Go for ASUS or ABIT if you are going 975, and Gigabyte or ASUS if you are going 965. :)

Go for the Gigabyte DS3, you can get it cheap if you shop around and it's worth the extra £20. :)

I have the gigabyte GA-965P-S3 and its a great board got my 6300 clocked at 2.94 gig atm with no issues, i put the F5 bios in and it gave me more clocking potential infact it says with the bios " Better clocking for 6300/6400"
