as per title really folks, jus installed my new samsung 1tb f3 and formatted using disk management. its got a green bar along the top where as the other drives all have blue, and says dynamic instead of basic?

thanks to anyone that helps :)

Dynamic lets you perform some extra tricks in windows like disk spaning and RAID.
TBH I never bother with it and always run my drives as standard, but it doesnt hurt either way.

thanks mate. i might have to move the drive to another machine and i read something about only running on xp pro?

i cant seem to change it back to basic, ive deleted the volume and its now unallocated again but when i right click new volume, it says this wizard hels you create volumes on dynamic disks?

thanks for the help :)
