difference between antec 900, 900-2 and 1200

hi whats the difference between antec 900, 900-2 and 1200, just wondering

Hi all, Dan from Antec here.

Just to make it clear, the Nine-Hundred has 9 drive bays (3 x 5.25" external & 6 x 3.5" internal). It has 2 x 120mm intake fans at the front of the case and 1 x 120mm & 1 x 200mm exhaust fan at the back and on top. It is a few years old now but due to demand we are keeping it running, along side the Nine Hundred Two (there is a price difference).

The Nine Hundred Two and the Twelve Hundred are the same, except the Nine Hundred Two has 3 x drive bays less, so is shorter than Twelve Hundred. (902 has 9 x drive bays and 1200 has 12 drive bays).

So, main features of these 2 cases, and improvements we made over Nine Hundred, after listening to our customers, are: - removable and washable dust filters on all intake fans, cable management behind the motherboard (we raised the motherboard tray, leaving around 1" behind the mobo for your cables and made cut outs in several places to route your cables). External fan speed controls for all fans, user selectable speeds to select between low noise or maximum performance. Painted black interior.

Long graphics cards fit in all of the cases no problem, although as Spitzoid has mentioned if the power connectors are on the end rather than the top, you should keep the drives in a different cage to the one directly in front of the cards.

Also, the Twelve Hundred will take our new CP-850W continuous power supply. this is a new CPX form factor and will only work with Twelve Hundred, P183 and P193 cases with more in future. these will be available end of April. Well on the off chance you really are from antec Id like to make a suggestion ;) I have a 1200 and its a good case, but what would make it better imo is instead of having the fan controls all spread out and separate and fiddly twisty knobs on the front and hard to reach switches on the back Id like to see one switch at the front on the top with the 3 speed settings, so you could control all fans with one switch either quiet mode, performance mode or comporomise, not really sure anyone needs to have theirs fans running at separate speeds anyway, I think this would be a nice simplistic touch. Course only my opinion, and youre prob not from antec anyway but as I said, just in case

It is a very good idea. Usually, when we look at producing a product we carefully weigh up the features vs the cost. I'm sure our product development team would have thought about this at some point, i guess it hasn't happened due to a cost. Of course, i know a lot of people are prepared to pay extra for such things, but obviously we need to make it appeal to as wide an audience as possible. However, i will not guess that my product development team have looked at this as they may not have. I will forward your suggestion.....you never know.
