Difference between DDR and DDR2?

Just a quick question..

What is the difference between these two types of memory?

For the end user the main difference is the form factor. DDR has 184 pins whilst DDR2 has 240. Neither is backward or forward compatible.

DDR2 is meant to require less volts.

As a practical note, DDR performance memory is virtually extinct and hard to find while DDR2 is readily available. It is also more readily available in higher density modules than DDR.
