difference between these two pumps?

I'm after a D5 pump but all the MCP655's are out of stock. What is the difference between the MCP655 and the VPP655?

Is the MCP655 worth an extra £30 over the VPP655?

Thanks

The MCP655 comes as a complete pump with housing, the VPP655 comes as the pump but less the housing so it's ideal if your fitting an aftermarket pump top.

If your not getting an aftermarket pump top go for the MCP655.

If you are going to get an aftermarket pump top go for the VPP655.

Have a look here.

Thanks, so is it still ok to run the VPP655 without a top?

difference between these two pimps? Made me laugh :p

Oops, typo :D

There are 2 versions of the VPP655 listed, the single version is the motor only, the Alphacool VPP655 (Laing D5) Variable Speed - T12 version comes with the housing so you don't need to buy a pump top this is the same as the Swiftech MCP655.

Thanks a lot. Just to confirm, i wont need a top. I have the VPP655 in the first link you posted with the black housing.

What exactly is the difference between the VPP and the MCP then?

Nothing they are both the same laing D5, swiftech call it an MCP655 & Alphacool call it a VPP655.

Difference between two pimps.

imhro, sounds like something Inspector Cluzo would say, Peter Sellars had this part of to the t, :D Great films, Great Actor, sadly no more.

most D5s are the same. there are a few variences, they perform mostly equally.

the difference between pumps [or pimps] will be negilgable once they have a decent top on them anyway.
adding something like a bitspower/koolance/EK top will increase head pressure on the pump and make it perform a lot better.
