out of interest - is it normal, and why does it show it like this, to have a 5 degree difference in temps between core 0 and core 1 (on a dual core)?

eg core 0 = 19c
core 1 = 24c

?

Its the concave IHS that intel insist on using, Lapping the CPU fixes it - but may damage resale value.

The cores on my quad vary by around 3 C but which core(s) are cooler/hotter seems to vary everytime I check. I have lapped both the CPU and HSF though.

Mine are normally within 1deg of each other, but I have noticed that 1 of the cores shows more load than the other quite often.

3c difference between my cores. Generall 0 & 1 are hotter than 2 & 3.

Lapping my CPU reduce the diff by a couple of C. Lapped my old Ultima 90i and that was 4c ish out. The new Noctua (not lapped) is better for contact...
