Difference of HD on Xbox360 ?

And buy a new freeview box. Going off on a tangent but freeview hard drive recorders would have to be huuuuge! at about 10GB for an hours recording you're gonna need 500Gb of storage for 50 hours

Yes, I see your point on HD ... but I look at it this way ...
I will not be subscribing to rip-off-central ... err I mean Sky :p
My current box is on its last legs, and I am switching to freeview and the top up .. saving £12 a month on my current package :)
My DVD player and recorder are not HD, and I have no plans to replace them.
And finally ... pyschologiocal, I have a 32" CRT now .. so I want to go larger as well as better quality, that way I can see were my money went ;)
But, if I came a cross a good quality HD 36" + set for the same price I would be re-considering ;)

But we have drifted a bit here ...

Where are you mate? There are quite a few shops in London and Southampton that have everything in stock now ( even though you may have to get a core + hdd+ componant cables rather than premium) but the cost shouldnt be that much different

Cambridge area.
The reason I wanted Premium was because the HDD seem so hard to get seperatly, and I want wireless controllers, and the headset. (and the HD cable connection) ;)

Buying those seperatley would come to a decent amount more than than the £60 extra over the coere package I think ?

Hmmm the differences I have noticed from my normal Tv to running the 360 via the VGA lead is that everything is clearer. On SD thngs can look blurred futher away whereas on HD/VGA running HD resolution things are clearer.

Thats largely to do with the differences between a TV CRT tube (and its inability to display single pixels accurately) and an LCD though, its not the same as the difference between HD and SD. With plasma you get sharp pixel definition, pretty much the same as LCD.

For a more comparative view set your 360 to 868 x 480 and display it through your VGA monitor. That still wont be a true comparison though if you are using LCD as it wont be in native resolution so there will be some scaling going on, but it will giver a better indication than trying to compare against a TV screen.
