Differences between 111R Elise and standard Exige?

If you can manage to do the same in the Elise you're a braver man than me. It's just so capable that you'd have to be doing something *really* silly to have a problem.

Corners that had you sliding at 30 in other cars, can now be taken at 60 and the Elise won't even break a sweat, it's probably got a lot more to go yet you are unlikely to ever push it that far as you'd get scared before the car does!
It's sometimes difficult to understand how 4 small patches of rubber can hold you to the road so well.

Lack of weight and a sublime chassis could do that, the ITR with its LSD could scare a few passengers on tight roundabouts :D

I'd stick to the Elise. Get an induction kit and exhaust on a 111R and they're such a good car, 200+bhp will see it hit 60 in well under 5 seconds. Avoid the Exige, impossible to drive in the wet and as someone already mentioned, it's designed for a track. The noise is just about bearable in the elise but the Exige has it's own noise chamber which just makes it stupidly loud - conversation on a motorway is actually impossible.

I'd also consider a VXR220 if you can find one - same price as a good 111R and faster through the gears, although very bare inside.

Noise levels aren't *that* bad with the roof on. Keep it about 65-70 on the motorway and you can hear the radio just fine. When you start "making progress" that's when you can't hear anything but the engine and the wind. But that's good :)

The Exige with the hard top tends to echo more noises whereas a soft top on the Elise lets them escape easier.
