Different Core temps

I know this has been discussed before but i can't remember what what said... or find it with search

i get different temps across my 2 cores, approx 5 degrees... is this common? should i reapply the paste and HSF?

this is with both cores under full load.

I get this on my Q6600 aswell, Its nothing to worry about.

fair enough. i really can't be bothered refitting my HSF anyway!

I dont think you would see any benefits from re-seating your Heatsink. Lapping may possibly resolve it to some extent, although having not done this myself (yet), I cant be too sure.

I currently have an 8*c delta between my cores on Q6600 @ idle (31,34,26,27).
