Different sized dual monitors?

Just wondering what peoples' experience of this is. I'm currently running dual 1907FPs, but considering an upgrade. Going for triple was going to be my change, but that would have meant extra graphics card, and in turn new case (very cramped in there).

Also, triple 19s wouldn't have given me much more useful space, no extra height or width for a specific application. So I'm now wondering about hooking up at 21/22 as my primary monitor and having a 19 as a secondary.

What is the difference in pixel pitch likely to be, and how do people generally get on with different sized monitors? :)

ive been told that a

22" widescreen will have the same height(its not exact but hard to tell) as a 19" (non widescreen)

and a 20" widescreen will have the same height(its not exact but hard to tell) as a 17" (non widescreen)

If this helps?

Pixel Pitch

A guide to pixel pitch at different screen sizes:
15" = 0.297mm
17" = 0.264mm
17"WS = 0.264mm
19" = 0.294mm
19"WS = 0.285mm
20" = 0.255mm
20"WS = 0.258mm
21" = 0.270mm
21"WS = 0.270mm
22"WS = 0.282mm
23"WS = 0.258mm
24"WS = 0.270mm
27"WS = 0.303mm
28"WS = 0.309mm
30"WS = 0.250mm

If pixel pitch is an issue, then a 20" is a better match, but the vertical height is a closer match with a 22'.

Didn't think they were defined specified values, apologies for not checking the sticky thoroughly.

If I'm not going to get a perfect match then I don't suppose it matters. I won't be spanning stuff across the screens, they will have different applications on each.

How is 0.258mm a better match to 0.294mm than 0.282mm???? :confused:

I've been using two dual head setups for the last couple of weeks and I'd make the following comment

I've been using the following combinations:
1). 22" TFT @1680x1050 and 17" TFT @1280x1024
2). 22" TFT @1680x1050 and 14.1 Laptop @1024x768

For me the difference in monitor height, (which isn't really significant), is less important than the difference in resolution. I think you really want to have the vertical resolution to be as equal as possible.

Configuration (2) is really annoying because if you move across from the higher res screen with the cursor in the bottom 25% of the screen then the cursor is lost off the bottom off of the other screen and hence you keep on "loosing" it.

Configuration (1) works fine and is very usable. Replacing the 17" with a 19" would probably be fine too.
