Difficulty accessing router settings TP Link TD-W8961ND

I have a TP-Link TD-W8951 router that has an annoying problem. If I restart the router I can access the settings 192.168.1.1 but after either a few hours or sometimes a few days I can no longer access the settings unless I restart the router which is a pain in the bum.

It doesn't matter if I try wi-fi, power-line cable or a cable direct, not does it matter if I try using the laptop or the desktop.

Any ideas as to what the problem may be? It's a pain having to restart the router every time I want to access the settings. I also have a Vodafone Sure Signal box that takes ages to reconnect whenever the router gets restarted.

Cheers in advance.

Bah - still doing it. 192.168.1.1 worked fine up until I tried to use it again just now. The page just comes up "Connecting" but stays blank.

Yeah - tried firefox and ie 11 also tried via a tablet and a laptop - all the same.

It's quite irritating. Still have full internet access just can't get to the router setup pages.

Excellent stuff, thanks for that - there may be a fix shown in the first thread you linked, so I'll give that a try. Does seem like a toss idea though -_-

If not, maybe it's replacement time!

Just for info, I tried the idea on post #18 on S2KIP's first link;

On its web interface, go to Access Management---UPnP, choose Deactivated and Save.

I did this back on the 26th and it has cured the problem. Just updating the thread in case any other people have the same issue.

Many thanks mate :)
