Diffrence Between i3 i5 & i7 ??

i3's are dual core with 2 threads.
Most i5's are quad core with 4 threads.
i7's can be 4 core, 6 core and have 8/12 threads.

i7 > i5 > i3 in overall performance.

i3 are dual core with in built IGP and dual channel memory.

i5 6** are dual core with hyperthreading with in built IGP and dual channel memory.

i5 7** are quad core, dual channel memory.

i7 8** are quad core with hyperthreading and dual channel memory.

i7 9** are quad or hex with hyperthreading and triple channel memory controllers and use a unique 1366 socket.

Intels sandybridge uses a different 1155 socket.

If you are gaming then I would suggest looking at the i5 2500K (quad core) CPU and a P67 motherboard. This setup offers a huge amount of CPU power, good value and much head-room for overclocking.

The main difference between the i7 2600K and the i5 2500K is that the i7 has hyperthreading enabled, a slightly higher stock clockspeed and a third more L3 cache - it also costs £76 more than the i5 2500K. In gaming the benefits of the i7 compared to the i5 don't provide much of a performance difference - have a look at this review which compares the two.

i5 is the dogs bollax then :D .. as said before i dont get compo till end of next month! might be something new out by then :D!!
if not ill stick with i5. would 4gb ram be enough Or 8 ?? lol
Forget to mention im NO GOOD at overclocking would need help on that :D

4gb of RAM is fine for gaming.

8GB is better for RAM heavy applications, such as Photoshop. But only if you're doing it often.

8GB is nice if you've the money, but it's not something you require :)
