Digi cam help - which memory?

Hi there,

I have a Sony DSC-P72, which is probably shockingly aweful compared to what all you lot use, but I've got a problem with the memory for it.

It came with a 16mb 'Sony Memory Stick' (LOL) and I got a 32MB one some time after, which I've been using ever since.

Here comes the slightly more interesting info!.... (sorry to bore u btw)

I bought a 'Memory Stick PRO Duo' 512mb (ones for PSPs) and it came with the adapter needed to make it fit in the DSC-P72, but it completely trips the camera out when its in... I press power, power light flashes on then stays off, the motorised lens decides to go in and out, random nastiness like this.

So, anyone know which memory is gonna be compatible with my camera, to save me trawling through loads of misleading websites?

Without looking anywhere I'd say that since it's a Sony it must use either the Standard Memory Sticks or Memory stick pro/pro duo, but if you are having issues with the pro duo I go for the standard memory sticks.

Looks to be either the Standard Memory Stick's or Memory Stick Pro is what you should be looking for.

Keep as a spare for my PSP, which I orginally bought it for, then for a 1gb and so made the 512 redundant.
