I have to admit I was a little concerned of KM's decision to pull out of the DSLR market, but on reading a little more it might actually be more beneficial to have Sony taking the lead. KM will still be producing the bodies & lenses, but under licence to Sony and still keeping the well established Minolta A mount, plus as has been mentioned, Sony do make their own sensors.
We might also get the chance to use some Zeiss glass at some point too
