So I plumped for a ps4 set the weekend and afk trying to decide which route to go primarily. I NEVER buy physical on my pc, but you are always going to have a pc and the games are rarely expensive.

I wanted to go digital on ps4 to avoid disc swapping despite the oddity of digital costing more. But then I thought... People tend to sell games/trade when they are done with them to offset the ludicrous console game cost which kind of makes sense.. Digital = no resale value... But I hate clutter and am l long past thinking a collection of games looks good on a shelf lol.

Anybody made this choice or have good reasons to go one way or another? I kind of want to buy Minecraft and Diablo, just trying to decide on the medium.

Physical, mainly because I can sell it later on, even if it's for £5.

I don't mind disk swapping, been doing it for years, it's never a problem and not going to become one now.

Physical. Digital on consoles just isn't an option IMO.
Why would anybody want to pay £55-60 for a game that you're stuck with when you could pay up to £20 less and also be able to sell the game when you're done with it?

As for clutter: I usually only have a couple, maybe 3, games at a time. I'll keep games that have good MP that I like but anything else gets sold when I'm done. Usually on the MM on here as you can get more than you would if you trade in and people that are buying get games cheaper than buying in a shop.

Never understood why people find disc swapping a issue.... I would go for physical copy as you can sell the game once your bored of it or lend it to friend, also PSN prices are joke some times.

Digital if you're going to keep it (can get around 50quid online currency for 40 cash), for me games like destiny, titanfall, halo collection, GTA 5.

Physical if you're going to sell it (most/all others).

I also wanted to go digital with my PS4 (and Xbox One when I get it), but due to the stupid pricing of buying direct from their respective online stores, it looks like I'm stuck with physical copies of games.

If I lived in the UK, then physical. In Australia it's cheaper to buy digital from the US store than it is to buy and re-sell. So I get the convenience of no disc swapping, keep forever and it's cheaper. Win win for me.

Physical for console, digital for PC. As has been said, digital games on PC are often on sale sooner so it doesnt matter so much. Prices for digi stuff on console are just nuts.

Physical as it has resale value. Other aspects are the same such as install size. You'll still going to use the same amount of HDD space as a retail install size is the same as the digital one. PC has the beauty of adding more HDD space so digital is the better option, besides most PC games today are serial locked on Steam or Origin etc so the disc is useless once activated.

All that really matters is your internet connection speed for downloading where a disc could save you time and if you wanted to sell the game in the future.

I used to buy everything physical and never sell anything. I took a long hard look at that habit when I bought my PS4 - I realised that I hardly ever re-play anything so what is the point of keeping it? I traded all my 360 games towards a PS4.

Now I buy and trade and only have 2-3 physical games at any one time. As a PS+ subscriber you do get offers on PSN for digital bargains. I bought Battlefield 4 digitally when the EA offers were on and that's really the only kind of game I would consider because of the extended multiplayer game time. Everything else is physical bought and sold.
