digital or physical?

Physical as it has resale value. Other aspects are the same such as install size. You'll still going to use the same amount of HDD space as a retail install size is the same as the digital one. PC has the beauty of adding more HDD space so digital is the better option, besides most PC games today are serial locked on Steam or Origin etc so the disc is useless once activated.

All that really matters is your internet connection speed for downloading where a disc could save you time and if you wanted to sell the game in the future.

You can add more space to the consoles too, easily for the xbox one, and just a bit of time to do on the PS4.

On the PC, retail disc unless cheaper on digital (due to sales) or not available on retail. 99.9% of the time the retail discs on PC are tired to your account making it available for digital download too. So best of both worlds.

On console, always physical unless its not available on retail. Even during the sales I rather wait for it to become cheaper on retail. I don't trust Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo with £40+ digital download games, especially when they have ability to shut down their servers so cant access the game to redownload if needed in the future. That's where you loose the right to a game you legally bought and they are still in pocket.

Mainly digital, although I bought Destiny physical copy then my drive broke so I can't play it. The problem I found when buying physical copies was that I was rushing through games so I didn't lose too much money on re-sale/trade-in. With digital I feel I get more out of a game as it's mine forever and there's no going back, I spend more time and take things slower and appreciate it more.

My Xbox One launch games were all physical. Apart from Watchdogs I have bought everything digital. Why?

So both my son and I can play them at the same time. Also buying on the US marketplace helps.

Not bought anything from the UK marketplace.

So for me, getting two digital copies for £36 is better than one physical disc for £40-£50.

I'll go back to physical whem MS close the loophole :)

I don't mind going digital but if a game is physical then I will pick it up physical. This is purely a cost issue, by the time I trade in or sell on games the average price I get is ~£10. So until digital copies are ~£10 cheaper than physical I wont be swapping.

Would love to go all digital, but as long as there is value in having physical copies you can resell, then I'll stick with discs for the majority of games.

If prices were more like the PC and new games could be picked up really cheaply (~£20), then I'd consider that.

Digital all the way for me for a few reasons (in no particular order of priority):

- Digital downloads can be downloaded quickly over a fast connection so no waiting for delivery or having to go to a store.
- No clutter
- I buy few games and only the ones that I intend to keep
- I buy very few titles at release, mainly because I don't have the time to play them so when I do get round to buying them, they have often fallen in price or are part of some sort of offer. Granted this may still be more expensive than the physical copy at the same time point.

But to sum it up in one word, it would be convenience.

Physical for most games although I went digital for Minecraft as this was a reasonably priced game, something like £14 or so.

Also I have a 1tb drive so might as well make use of it along with all the free psn games each month.

I'm also going digital for Driveclub most likely as this is cheaper if you have ps plus and upgrade from the free version. Think it will cost £34.99, and even cheaper if you use credit from somewhere like cdkeys.

digital

I have family share on X1 so I buy digital game which is more expensive then my brother buys the next, works perfectly

Digital prices should be cheaper but with X1 sharing option I will be getting Halo masterchief collection and COD advanced warfare for price of one game as it stands

I never resell on I still have over 70 xbox 360 games stored

Rob, I think I'd be facing the same choice if digital wasn't generally so expensive. I like the convenience of digital games but hate the expense on consoles, I like the ability to trade physical games but hate disc swapping.

I've only bought Tomb Raider and Destiny digitally and only because I paid £3 of my own money for each of them but digital games at their current price are just not a viable option for me.

If you don't care for trading or like having a physical collection on your shelf and you're loaded, I'd say go digital just for the convenience.

Digitial. It feels archaic having to put a disc into a machine these days. I'm too lazy to sell games on too - so digital all the way.

Started to move more towards digital now that external HDDs can be used on the One.

Main reason? Laziness.

I still enjoy having the physical copy, unwrapping it and looking inside at the shiny new disc. I don't get that sensation with digital!

Digital unless its stupidly overpriced like watchdogs was, I have never sold a 360 game (still got over 80 of them sat on a shelf gathering dust).

However I am now hitting the "500gb who thought that was big enough?" line and im going to need to grab an external now.

Physical for a couple of reasons :

1) My internet speed does not presently make downloading a 50GB game a viable option
2) I like boxes for my collection :)

Wouldn't have a problem going Digital if it weren't for the fact that the games are so bloody expensive. Cannot justify paying £50+ for a game. If they got their act together and made it cheaper than no hesitation it would be Digital.

Digital for PC (unless I find a bargain in a game store) and physical on console (unless there is some crazy digital deal on, or a digital-only game which I want)

The reason being the same as stated above. Resale value and the ability to load games. :)
