By this I mean, do you prefer having a game as a download, or a physical copy of a disk & case?

I'm unsure myself.
Having been using PC for a while now, I only have two games from a disk, so 94% are digital.

And glimpsing over at the massive collection of accumulated PS3 games, I kind of miss it.

Could ask the same for your Books & films.

I like hard copies of books but most are digital! Same with films and games, except old console games of course :p

Digital.

Nothing used to annoy me more than when someone would mess up my alphabetised DVD collection.

Now they can't I am much happier.

Whatever's cheaper, though I find if a physical copy of PC game is cheaper, it's usually a Steamworks title anyway, so becomes digital.

Now that I have unlimited broadband I haven't bought a physical game for a couple of years. There are so many good deals on bundles these days that are too good to miss.

Books and films however, always physical.

Digital now. My movie collection pretty much takes up all the physical space I have (not bragging, I have a small room :D)

All digital except some books from my favourite authors, as I'm usually collecting signed copies etc.

No reason to have physical CDs/DVDs these days, just takes up space and games rarely put the effort into manuals/boxes as they use to.

Definitely digital for me, as far as games go any way. Physical is just a waste of space.

Having said that, I'll go for physical if its cheaper.

back in the day, with pc big boxes, the physical copies were cool, these days they come in smaller cases with not even a cool full colour manual, so a lot more convenient to have digital, the collectors edition of witcher 3 is looking quite cool though and might give me a reason to get the physical copy!

I tend to keep physical things forever (or at least for an unreasonably long time), so digital helps to prevent that. It's also more difficult to lose them, and they're often (although not always) cheaper. So, yes, definitely digital for me, for both games and books.
