Digital output device device hdmi is not working when connected to TV by hdmi cable I get message no signal there is also no audio. When I run test there is simulated soundwaves but there is no sound the result is shown as working it also shows as having the latest drivers does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix
 
I have a other program that uses video playes perfectly through a vga output
but hdmi device sounds has no audio although it tests as working does this mean anything
 
By looking at the gpu is this a laptop, and your connecting to a tv?

When you right click the speaker icon on the task bar, click Play Back Devices and does this show HDMI audio.

When I tried mine I needed to reboot with HDMI cable connected to the TV for option in the task bar to allow me to choose HDMI in the play back devices.
 
Thanks for replying yes it's a laptop samsung R700. I did what you suggested connected before rebooting now have picture but still no sounds .
 
What shows up when you right click the speaker icon on the task bar and click on the Playback Devices drop down menu.
 
right clicking the speaker on the task bar takes me to the dialog box that is also accessable from sounds in control panel which shows speakers for laptop
also hdmi digital output device. when I test hdmi speakers it shows soundwaves but no sounds and gives message this device is working and I dont get any sounds on tv. laptop speaker work and test perfectly
