It's sometimes difficult. We display our goods (not cameras) on the wall and customers can hold them and try the working bits. Technically, this makes them secondhand but, as the goods can be quite expensive, we can't normally afford to stock more than one of each type. Where we can, we'll sell a boxed item but otherwise it's the display model. This is standard for our sector - customers know this and accept it. In almost six years I've only had one telephone enquirer ask if an item is boxed or display.
It's really just the same as buying the display model in a photo shop. Calumet are exceptional in that they do not have display models for just this reason.
