Morning All

The card I have on order is a Gainward GTX 275 but its out of stock and im far too impatient to wait an unknown number of days for my new PC so can anyone recommend a better or similar card. Must have support for 3 monitors (HDMI and Either VGA or DVI). My Budget is around £180 but if theres a significantly better card around £200 then I dont mind stumping the extra few quid.

Ive had a look but its been a while since I paid any attention to the latest and greatest cards so im not very confident in my choices, call me blissfully ignorant if you will :P. However these look like they may be ideal candidates;

Gainward HD 4870

Saphire HD 4890

Any thoughts?. :)

Yea, its going to be for gaming - not necessarily the high end of gaming but I would like to be 'Up to date' as you say mid-level until early summer.

Ill be gaming on my main screen, a 42" samsung. The other 2 are just 17" flat panels. I wont be running those whilst gaming im not hardcore enough!!!! There just for work.

To be honest the 275 is still a very good card and will probably out perform the 5770, not by much but still out perform. They only advantage you get with the 5770 is ATI Eyefinity (multi-display system) and DX11 support. If this was 2 months ago you'd be able to get a 5850 for £200 notes and I'd definitely say get that (I want one too :D) but at that budget its difficult especially with a decent card already.

Wait and see what others say.

I may have misunderstood but windows wont let you run 3 monitors from 1 gfx card regarless if it for gaming or desktop?

The others are right only ATI's 5 series can run 3 monitors at once with its Eyefinity software or this TripleHead2Go thing which is very expensive.

To be honest unless you plan to use all 3 (why would you want to use a 42" TV with 2x 17" monitors :eek:) then stick with the 275

Well after having a bit of a search of the forums based on your input ive decided to go for the 5770 and then when it comes time to upgrade I may get another to go crossfire but things change so much we'll just see what happens!

Just take a look at the benchmarks at Tom's Hardware or similar before you hit that buy button Ste just make sure your happy with the performance its projected to give.

There is plenty of stock at the moment and there is a Vapor-X version which has a non-reference cooler and small factory overclock.

That is a strange setup you have there, but might work with a flight sim or something :D

I was hoping to use it for Poker multi tabling, just makes life a bit easier having less tables per screen so they are easier to read if im laid in bed! I had the 17's laying around doing nothing so I can't help myself, like a bug to the light lol!!
