I’ve been invited to a wedding next weekend and it's a black tie do which starts around 4ish and followed by cocktails and then food in the evening rather than a regular full day shindig.

I’ve sorted out my suit (standard, black) and got my wife practising how to tie my bow tie! However I’ve come to think about shoes. I’ve got a pair of regular black brogues which I initially assumed I’d wear can be found Here

Otherwise i have these which i thought might add be that slight bit different but wasn't quite sure what the ettiquete is with adding a bit of colour to a dinner suit.

Thoughts?

Brown shoes with a black suit? No.

Maybe its the lighting but they're more of a burgundy red colour.

Either way i think i'll stick with black, just thought the shine to the burgundy ones may work well as opposed to the matt colour of the black ones. Don't really want to spend extra on some other shoes after buying the suit/shirt etc.

Every time a grown man wears a clip on bow tie or doesn't know how to do a proper bow tie, I kill an innocent child and drink their blood.

Oh, and black shoes. Not brogues.

She's my back up. I have been practising (this is the first time i've ever had to wear one). But it seems easier for her than me trying to do it on myself.
