Direct Paypal instead of through eBay: Safe?

what if they say you sent them a brick in a box?

What I did was take a photo of the item, the parcel and the postal receipt and then email them it or upload it to my file server so they can view the photos.

I took photos of all the serials and I also marked the item in a few places that you wouldn't normally see and hard to get too with a code with a ultraviolet pen.

I must had done 50+ sales like this over 1 year using Parcel2go.

Only did sales like this to users with a large number of feedback.

so no proof whatsoever?

i can see the codes being useful if they return a different broken item. but pictures of the product and a package simply prove you possessed the product at some point and sent a package at some point, not the contents.

You still have buyer protection as long as you don't send the payment as a gift. So you're safe to do it, it's something I will ask a seller for on a particularly expensive item.

It's no different if you complete the purchase though eBay. They can still say that they got a brick like many people have complained about.

But the photos of the product, parcel and the postal receipt which would have the tracking number, time of date of purchase should be proof of most people, if anything, it gives you a stronger case to use with Paypal if the seller says they got a brick and on top of that, there is a invoice you made though Paypal and sent them.

It's fine. I have 37000 feedback and do this all the time. If someone has good feedback or is an established ebay business they won't rip you off.

I've had a few things get sold on eBay where they offered to send the cash via PayPal ... did so with a rather convincing email that looked like they paid. Was a scam but I had to go along with it in order for them to cancel thr eBay listING so I could get my 10% that eBay already took.

I'd advise against it all since its eBay... but if you buy on your credit card and via PayPal you should be pretty safe as your CC company will protect you.
