DX12 benchmarks and games should be good for a laugh as a lot of err experts are going to be a little embarrassed as I don't think there will be any massive performance gains.

Having said that I could be wrong.

Should provide benefits for any scenario where the CPU is in anyway a bottleneck. RTS games and MMOG spring to mind rather than FPS but what we would really need is a game with fully developed DX11 and DX12 API support.

It's a bit disappointing that the only thing we really have at the moment is the 3DMark API test which is about as synthetic as synthetic benchmarks can be.

Star Swarm would have been nice but that thing really is a buggy piece of crap. I don't think it's seen any real development since initial release, UI is poor, I think I'd probably instal it again if they released the DX12 version but I don't think we will get anything until Ashes of the Singularity comes along.

Personally, I'd like to hear more about these multi GPU optimisations but I guess that's a while off too :(

Ah I see.. Sorry about the caps had lock on.

At least it's something.. But yeah expect to see more over the coming months I guess.

The only thing im hoping for is for CPU bottlenecks as we know them today to be a thing of the past.. If that is the only thing we get then im very happy..

Can't wait to see an AC game ground-up in D3D12. The crowds are always great at first, but you gradually become desensitized to them and learn all the things they shout etc. Some extra AI or procedural gubbins would be a decent step towards total immersion.

When DX CPU bottlenecks are removed all that will happen is the next bottleneck will be the limit, liekly a Physics or AI related thread.

I have to say that DX12 couldn't have arrived at any better time. We're living times where DX11 performance was getting hindered by more and more cpu bound scenarios. Just think about next gen gpu's with die shrinks, and how often they would be cpu bound. Timing is great.
