Directline - obtaining proof of NCD option

Does anyone know why I'm given this option, and why I would want to accept/deny it? If I tick no do I have to send them proof myself? It's buried in all their statements so not very obvious.

Cheers - I figured as much but it just struck me as odd. I hate sorting out insurance .

Oh ok, I can see how doing something like that would make that box quite useful then.

I only have one car so it's much much less hassle for me I'm sure.. still more than I'd like mind .
