DirectX 11 for vista

This update will update DirectX in Vista to DirectX 11. Only for Vista 32bit and 64bit users, Win7 already comes with DX11

Yup DX11 for vista now available. I already had the latest version of DirectX installed, and had noted the existance of d3dx11_42.dll in the system32 directory, but this update throws the magic on switch.

Its referred to as a 'Platform Update'

dont you need a dx11 gpu to run games that have the option off using dx11

Well pretty much parity, which is what we seem to have :cool:

Is it me, or did the update make a few things feel a bit snappier? Could be placebo effect, but my sysadmin is suffering from the same illusion if it is.

To use some features yes, but Direct Compute and the multi threaded drivers are supported on DX10 cards too.
