Directx 12 multi gpu

Hi everyone.
Soon we'll have windows 10 with directx 12 , quite lot of info was released about multi gpu support but I was wondering is it possible to mix my current gpu r9 280x with old hd 7770 ? I couldn't find anything about that.

im not sure but i think it'll only work if games /programs support dx12 and gpu's need to support dx12 also

r9 is a different gen to the 7's however you should get a 7970 to crossfire with the 280x.

i think he knows that...

he means dx12 as a feature where u can use mix gpus, example amd gpu with a NV gpu.

yes I know about CrossFire now and that I can't crossfire them now . My question was if that will be possible with directx 12 . They saying a lot about mixing amd with nvidia and even with igpu . Both of the cards which I mentioned will support dx12 that's why I was asking

not full support tho, so maybe a issue when trying to use mix gpus

Hopefully not too many issues , it'll be really nice to use old gpu's to increase performance. we'll see what dx12 will be capable off.
