DirectX 12 Requires New Graphics Cards to Utilize All Features

Ha, I'm just posting the latest like always, that article was written on the 24th. A lot of guys don't read every sub section, so might have missed in the DX12 older threads that DX12 isn't fully compliant on older GPU's.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Triss is right though, new GPU withdrawal is already setting in :p

I think whether the current cards are partly or nearly fully DX12 compatible is mostly irrelevant.By the time it arrives and games utilise it properly/fully most of us would have upgraded/be ready to upgrade anyway.
Bit like tesselation in DX11 and first batch of 'DX11 ready' cards.

I'll be interested to see how my 480's cope with DX12 enhancements:cool: by the time it's released they'll probably be in my backup system but be interesting to compare:)

Also poor BOOM, he tries so hard providing us avid readers with up to date info! so be nice guys:p I think I must be in the final throws of upgrade withdrawl:eek: A Cornishman defending a Devonian:confused::D I guess the only cure is an upgrade STAT:eek::D

Yeah the beta for dx12 should be out sometime later this year for us to play with. Hopefully it does something for older titles that arnt dx12.

Btw to some of those that arnt sure about win 7 and dx12, yes its coming for win 7 its been confirmed. :) Vid somewhere abouts that has someone from ms saying as such.

They are going to use it to sell cards at christmas i think. Hell knowing these greedy chumps it would not suprise me if these rumors come out more soon about new features being added in that need new cards.

20nm is late and it only takes a short time to make up a new feature and put it in the DX 12 features list and the spec is surely not official yet so it would be easy done. Then you can milk people some more before 20nm as you failed and are stagnant. I swear to someone, If there is not something 30% more powerful than a 780TI this year on 28nm using Maxwell or Pirate Islands im going to flip a lid. It is going so slow i mean 580, 680 780 give me a break what happened to this old graph of Keplar v Maxwell and the big jumps? Lies fail and more lies :(

:D

Im going to guess that.

1. It will only be a few features.
2. They wont be utilised enough.
3. Future drivers will piecemeal fixing issues with these features.
4. Cause 4.

Considering the neigh on decade of crap from Microsoft, i wont be holding any breaths.
