DIRT 2 Profile problems

I have just bought Dirt 2, only to find it won't allow me to create an autosave profile, it just keeps giving me the following error "corrupt save data" I haven't created a profile yet, so I don't see how I have any save data to corrupt? I have tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling, and also tried on win xp 64 bit, and win 7 64 bit with no luck! Is this a common problem?

it requires a valid serial linked to a Games For Windows Live account, check that the game is signing into your account.

Yeah its signing into my account no problem? It's a brand new copy also so no one has used the serial before.

Try creating an offline profile, to see if that works. If it does, then we know something is wrong with the online part.

Can't you just click ok and move onto the next screen and create a new profile?

I'm sure it did that to me the first time I loaded it too but I could just create a new profile and it was fine then.

No it won't let me create a new profile, when you get the option to create autosave, when selecting "yes" it shows the error, if you select no it takes you back were you started..

Will try the offline profile see how I get on.
