Dirt 3 now on Steam

I've got Dirt 2 but never really played it. Would you recommend to play that first to see if I like it - from what I gather they are very similar?
 
Great game, I'm having trouble getting to grips with the handling though. Using a Logitech DFGT and I have no trouble at all getting the car to drift, the trouble starts when I try to stop it from drifting and usually end up facing the wrong way. :p
 
Loving this game on my G27 Racing Wheel :cool:

It feels like a real step forward for the game, it actually feels a lot more like the Original Dirt game which we all know was rather epic ;)
 
Damn this games awesome. Is anyone using a wired PS3 controller? Im using DS3 tool to get it working on my PC, but I seem to be oversteering ridiculously, I'm wondering if its not set up properly?

Glad to see I can run this at max settings at 1920x1080p for a solid 50fps!

Using a Logitech Force EX here - I have reduced the deadzone to 5% and left everything else on default - best I can do.

My problem is that it keeps forgetting my wheel settings. Basically, it sets your controller to the one you press "start" with at the start of the game. My wheel doesn't have a start button :(
 
I couldn't wait up last night to play as it was still decrypting. Good to hear the positive comments so far. Lately have been very weary of preording games and talk of having to buy car packs would have really put me off.

If it's free then why not include the cars in the game? Or is this them getting us use to it so that they we buy a paid car pack at some point in the future?

How does online play? Is it a lag fest or works pretty well?

Yea my controller is deffo being weird? My car seems to just full lock one direction while just doing micro adjustments, anyone else using a PS3 controller?

I don't know then, turend off all the driving aids? On that even I got platinum the car only needed you to touch the brake (not handbrake else it span all over the place) to get going sideways. The second one is way harder.

Just done ther first trailblazer event,,,I wont ruin it for you guys but when the car selection screen came up I may have had an accident.
 
im trying to update gfwl
but it keeps getting stuck at the microsoft.net framework bit, just say found then does nothing
cant log into gfwl without the update
any help ? please

Always used to have that problem with the previous Dirt titles using anything other than the 360 controller - never managed to fix it either.

This I reckon.

Being a Codemasters game I am not expecting a fix from anyone other than the community, so watching the thread closely.
